HI024: CERTIFICATE IN HUMANITARIAN RESPONSE

The main aim of the course is to support efficient, effective and coordinated humanitarian response through the sharing of operational information. Students are supposed to garner first skills in human rights, livelihoods, sphere standards, and Netherlands humanitarian law.
The goal of the course is to create a conducive platform where all the agents concerned with disaster response can find and collaborate on information that relates to strategic decisions.
The course will give prominence to issues that are likely to emanate in humanitarian situations that include personal and team security, rapid assessments, application of minimum standards for food security, shelter, WASH (water sanitation and hygiene) and operational approaches to relations with the military in humanitarian grounds.
The topics to be covered include ;

• Foundations of humanitarian action
• Planning and funding the humanitarian response
• Food aid and nutrition
• Finance and budgeting
• Monitoring and evaluation
• Netherlands law and humanitarian standards
• Water sanitation and hygiene

Course Begins on 1st of every month for three  months.
